With a driver you pay for time: 240 EUR for 3 hours in an E-Class, 600 EUR for an 8-hour day. For a full day of moving around town, hourly hire often works out cheaper than a rental plus parking and taxis.

With a driver
Hourly hire starts at 240 EUR for 3 hours in an E-Class (3 passengers), 360 EUR in a V-Class (7 seats) and 450 EUR in an S-Class. A 4-hour half day is 320, 480 or 600 EUR, and an 8-hour day runs from 600 to 1,100 EUR. Minimum booking is 3 hours. Beyond the package, each extra hour costs 80 to 150 EUR depending on the class, and any trip outside a package is estimated from 2.60 EUR per kilometre.
Self-drive rates fall as the rental gets longer: 1 to 3 days, 4 to 6 days, then 7 days and over. An Abarth 500 starts at 250 EUR a day and drops to 180 EUR beyond a week; a Mercedes CLE Cabriolet, from 350 EUR to 240 EUR.
