Cannes to Monaco and Saint-Tropez: how to get there
From Cannes, two destinations spark the imagination: Monaco to the east, Saint-Tropez to the west. Each has its own atmosphere and logistics. Here is how to reach them in the best possible conditions.
Cannes → Monaco
Monaco lies east of Cannes, beyond Nice. Under normal conditions, allow around an hour by the A8. The Principality lends itself well to a day visit: the Casino, the Rock, Port Hercule and Monte-Carlo.
As parking there is restricted, a private transfer greatly simplifies the day: drop-off in the heart of Monaco and pick-up at the time you choose.
Cannes → Saint-Tropez
Saint-Tropez, to the west, is farther away and access to the village can slow to a crawl in summer. Depending on the season and traffic, allow one to two hours for the journey. The coastal road offers superb panoramas.
Travelling with a chauffeur lets you enjoy the scenery and avoid the driving and parking in an area that is very busy in high season.
Choosing the right time slot
For both destinations, an early departure and a return outside peak traffic make the day far more pleasant. A local chauffeur adjusts the route in real time depending on conditions.
