Nice Airport → Èze transfer: duration, route and tips
Perched more than 400 metres above the Mediterranean, the village of Èze is one of the most spectacular on the Côte d'Azur. From Nice Airport it is barely twenty minutes away — but between Èze-Village, clinging to its rock, and Èze-sur-Mer down by the water, it pays to know where you are heading before booking your transfer.
Distance and real duration
Èze lies about 15 kilometres east of Nice Airport. Under normal conditions, allow roughly 20 minutes by road via the A8 motorway and then the Moyenne Corniche. At peak times or in high summer, add some margin, as the road up to the village is slower than the motorway.
With the airport split into two terminals (T1 and T2), state yours when booking: your chauffeur adjusts the pick-up point accordingly.
Èze-Village or Èze-sur-Mer: where you are dropped off
The commune has two very distinct parts. Èze-Village, medieval and pedestrian, clings to a rocky spur more than 400 metres up, with its Exotic Garden and cobbled lanes. Èze-sur-Mer, below, borders the Mediterranean and has its own station.
The drop-off point therefore differs depending on your hotel. As the hilltop village is closed to traffic, your chauffeur takes you as close as possible to the entrance; the final stretch is on foot, over a few dozen metres.
The Moyenne Corniche, a scenic route
Three corniche roads link Nice to Monaco. The Moyenne Corniche serves Èze-Village directly and offers some of the finest Riviera views over the bay and Cap-Ferrat. The Basse Corniche hugs the sea through Villefranche-sur-Mer and suits Èze-sur-Mer better.
